Kendari Botanical Gardens is a 96 hectare nature conservation area which is the lungs of the city and a favorite ecotourism destination. Surrounded by expanses of green trees and clear rivers, this place offers a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the city with very cool and refreshing air.

Apart from being a recreation area, this area also functions as a botanical research and education center which holds thousands of collections of endemic plants to Sulawesi. Visitors can enjoy various facilities such as camping areas, trekking paths that cut through protected forests, and beautifully arranged thematic parks.
